Go to "Holy Bible" electronic Bible program to downlaod a full featured computer program for reading, studying, searching, printing, preparing outlines and sermon notes, listening to Bible texts, and more.
Installation is easy. There are two options for installation:
1) The normal installer installs the program on your Windows-XP or Vista computer.
2) The portable version can be run off of a flash stick. There is no real installation. You simply unzip it by clicking on the zipped folder to open it, then click "Extract all files". The extracted folder can be copied to a flashdrive or other portable device, and by clicking the Bible icon inside the folder, you can read and study the Bible on any Windows-XP or Vista computer.
It is easy to install more languages. Just download a text-module to a place on your computer (such as your desktop). Then, while the program is running, click-and-drag the downloaded text-module into the program window, or click the "File" menu, choose "Add New Modules", and select the text-module you wish to install. The program may automatically restart itself. It will then display the new text for you to read. Some modules include many texts and/or other materials. By clicking the "View" menu, and opening "Bible Tabs", "Commentary Tabs", "Book Tabs" or "Resource Tabs", you can select the materials you wish to work with.
You can add audio to the program.Download an audio module Then click-and-drag the downloaded file into the program window, or click the "File" menu, choose "Add New Modules", and select the file you downloaded. An audio icon will appear in the program above the corresponding Bible translation text (so, for instance, you must install the Uzbek text-module add-in before you can see the audio icons for Uzbek audio. If you install Uzbek audio for Matthew chapter 5, you will see the audio icon only when you view the Uzbek translation of Matthew chapter 5). You can play the audio by clicking this icon. You need to have a recent version of QuickTime installed on your computer to listen to audio with the program. If you don't have a recent version of QuickTime on your computer, download the "QuickTime" add-in module and install it just as you would install any other module. Or you can visit the official QuickTime page to download and install the full version of QuickTime.
There are many other module add-ins available from other sources. A large collection of compatible Bible translations, commentaries, books, and devotionals in various languages can be found at the SWORD Project's website. IMPORTANT NOTE: When downloading modules from this site, download the "raw.zip" module format, NOT the "Windows" format. Then install the zip file the same way that any other add-in module is installed (that is either by click-and-dragging the file into the program window, or with "File"->"Add New Module").
New Testament, Pentateuch, Proverbs, Ruth & Jonah with footnotes and cross-references. Also includes Old and New Testament glossaries with descriptions and illustrations.

If you don't already have a recent version of QuickTime installed on your computer and you wish to use the audio feature, then you will need to install this add-in. Or else download and install the official full version of QuickTime here.
Install an electronic version of the Scriptures on your mobile phone: Download a JAR file onto your phone (either directly or via your computer). The JAR file is a Java application that includes the Go Bible program and the electronic version of the Scriptures.
Note: the JAR files will not work on all mobile phones. They only work on phones that can run Java applications. In most cases you can find out if your phone runs Java applications by looking at the manufacturers specifications for your specific phone. Check that the phone can run Java games, or JavaME or J2ME applications. If you cannot find this information, just try downloading a JAR file to your phone and see if it works. Even if you have a phone that can run Java applications, you may find that the JAR file does not install or that some characters don't display correctly. If you experience these problems, you may find help below.
Some problems and possible solutions:
1. If your phone will not accept the JAR file or gives an error message when you try to run the file: Some mobile phones cannot run Java applications larger than a specific size. If you tried the full JAR file and it didn't install or you got an error message, then try intalling a small JAR file onto your phone. This may fix the problem. Because many phones cannot use the larger JAR files, we have also made all the electronic versions of the Scriptures available in smaller JAR files. The full JAR files contain all the Bible books, while the small JAR files only contain a limited number of Bible books. So, when using the small JAR files to view a particular book of the Bible, you will need to run the JAR file that includes that book.
2. If your phone does not correctly display all the letters of the electronic version of the Scriptures: Some mobile phones cannot correctly display all the characters needed by some languages (although there should be no problems displaying latin scripts). If your phone does not correctly display some characters, download and install the simplified character JAR file(s). In these simplified character JAR files, some characters have been replaced by standard characters which look similar and should display on all phones. This should help readability on phones which cannot display special characters.
3. If your phone does not allow you to type the letters of the electronic version of the Scriptures: again, this is a limitation of your specific phone and there is probably nothing you can do about it. It means you will not be able to search for words in the electronic text, but you will still be able to navigate through the text and read it.
